Hello,

With below freezing temperatures predicted again for this weekend, please help in protecting Tang Hall. There have been several incidents over the past few weeks due to pipes freezing because windows were left open and we experienced substantial damage as a result.

Westgate RecycleMania!

Posted by jeffman on Mon, 01/19/2009 - 16:58

Want to prove you and your neighbors are the most awesome in Westgate? Compete in Westgate RecycleMania!

All the floors and low-rises will be competing in a contest to determine who recycles the most at Westgate. Every Tuesday, the recycling bins for each floor and low-rise will be measured to determine who has recycled the most that week. After the competition begins, weekly results and standings will be posted throughout Westgate and also located at http://web.mit.edu/jmillman/www/RecycleMania2009.pdf.

The winning floor/low-rise will receive a dinner and bragging rights. The competition begins January 27th and lasts until March 3rd. Email westgate-rfrc [at] mit [dot] edu for more information or with any questions.

For quick information on what can be recycled, visit http://web.mit.edu/environment/pdf/flyer.pdf. For more information on recycling, visit http://web.mit.edu/environment/reduce/recycle.html.

This is part of a national recycling competition that MIT is participating in between universities across the US called RecycleMania from January 19th to March 28th. More information can be found at http://www.recyclemania.com.

Westgate RecycleMania is brought to you by your friendly neighbor Westgate Executive Committee.

Hi all,

I wanted to give everyone notice that we are making some minor changes to

names of each of the lists so that their purposes are more clear and
obvious. I will be sending out one or two test e-mails to each of the new

have made a mistake in transferring over your personal e-mail address. If
that's the case, contact me at westgate-gcatmit [dot] edu and let me know.

Thanks,
Jason

[westgate-info] Survey of Saferide Holiday and Summer Schedule

Posted by westgate-official on Sat, 01/03/2009 - 18:01

The Westgate Executive Committee is interested in gauging the impact
of a recently released Holidays and Summer schedule on graduate
students and on-campus families. Please take this 5 minute survey for
us to better voice your needs and concerns to MIT. If you have any
questions, please email westgate-rfroatmit [dot] edu

The following is the link to the survey:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=oT7f6UqFB_2bo_2bNRWfObvjSQ_3d_3d

MIT recently released a new schedule for the Saferides for during
Holidays and Summer. The official schedule can be found here:
http://web.mit.edu/facilities/transportation/shuttles/schedules/Saferide....

When running on the regular schedule, a shuttle comes by each shuttle
stop every 30 minutes. When the Saferide is running on the Holidays
and Summer schedule, a shuttle will only come by each shuttle stop
every 60 minutes and is in effect for 87 days in 2009, including most
of winter break, all of spring break, and all of the summer.
