Hi all,

We have put together an online survey to get your feedback, concerns, and suggestions with regards to Westgate's facilities, events, and community. We strongly encourage all Westgate residents (both students and their spouses or partners) to participate. You can access the survey here.

As a small thank you to those of you who complete and submit the survey, we will be randomly selecting seven residents who take the survey and awarding them with $10 or $20 gift certificates. (Residents who have moved out or will be soon moved out are also encouraged to participate -- we can mail your certificate should you win the drawing.) Thanks in advance for your participation! Hopefully this will give us a better idea of what you are thinking, and it will give you a chance to voice your ideas and thoughts about Westgate. The survey will be open for two weeks until Tuesday, June 2nd, but don't delay and fill it out now! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jason and Anna at westgate-gcmit [dot] edu.

We'll be having our annual Spring Farewell BBQ on Saturday, May 16 from 5:30-7:30pm. There will be great food, friends, and fun for everyone in the family!

The festivities will take place in the Westgate Courtyard/Playground, and there will be a special appearance by Tim the Beaver!

Hello all,

Two things are included in this e-mail, the Vassar St. Project and information
regarding a meeting about the playground tomorrow, Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at
8:00pm in the Basement Lounge. Please see below:

Vassar St. Project
------------------
As discussed at the Town Hall, a schedule regarding the repaving of Vassar St.
has been sent out along with detour information regarding changes in traffic
patterns. You can see this information at

Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Also, please ensure that you
pay attention to signage as the dates approach to ensure that the project is not
hindered and towing is not necessary.

Playground
-----------
We will be meeting at 8:00pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 in the Basement Lounge
regarding the playground. Housing is looking to reduce the size of the
sandbox/sand area in the Westgate playground for sanitary purposes. There are
three potential options, but there is also the opportunity for more. Please
see below:

1. Reduce the sand area/sandbox to just the size of the geometric shape at the
end closest to the tower.

2. Eliminate the built-in sand area/sandbox and instead purchase two plastic
sandboxes with covers which are then permanently placed in the playground area
outside of fall zones.

3. Reduce the existing sand area/sandbox to allow for two sandboxes, one at each
end.

Please feel free to send me your thoughts should you be unable to make the
meeting. Also, please keep in mind that budget restraints do not permit any
large overhaul of the existing sandbox/sand area.

There will also be a Playground Clean-up on Saturday, April 25, 2009. More
information to follow.

Hello all,

On Thursday, April 14, 2009 at 7:30pm in the Westgate Basement Lounge, the next
Town Hall Meeting, representatives from EHS/PCB Project and Grounds will be on
hand to discuss the proposed plan for the Westgate Courtyard.

A preliminary plan has been developed and is being discussed among an initial
group briefly before bringing it to the community. I have reinforced the
suggestions by the community members at the last Town Hall in regards to having
sod in lieu of other means for grass. I have also asked that a timeline for
implementation be brought to the meeting.

A resident has created a petition/survey where you can also further voice your
opinion at

The town hall meeting will also be used to discuss the reduction of the sand box
in the playground area and the potential garden plots.
